Candidates must hold at a minimum MCA UK Y3 or MCA UK Small Vessel Certificate of Competency. Chief Engineer Officer, less than 3000 kW, less than 500 GT, unlimited area, STCW Reg III/3 Y3. USCG candidates will be considered.
Must show longevity in previous positions. Candidates that have moved yachts every year or so will not be considered. Please do not send any candidates without longevity.
Fully 100% fluent in English conversational and written.
Rotational, 10 weeks on, 10 weeks off. With some minor flexibility needed to due to guest trips or passages. Time on is time on. Candidates must live on the yacht and there is no option for land-based commuters. Proper handover will be done in person for approximately 3 days.
Departing relief chief engineer was here for 16 months, and prior to that relief chief engineer for 4 years. Chief engineer onboard for over 7 years.
The yacht is currently for sale and actively being used by the owners and being shown to brokers and potential purchasers.
Male candidate due to cabin arrangements. Shared cabin with chef. Age range late 20s to early 40s. Nonsmoker.
B1/B2 visa essential for non-USA applicants.
Candidates should live in or around the USA, Central America, UK, or Western Europe. Candidates that must travel over one day to reach the yacht will most likely not be considered.
Preferable trade background of some sort. Engineer will be given as much responsibility as he is willing to take on. This is not an entry Y3 position as it is a very busy yacht and there is only one engineer. Very experienced Y3 or USCG applicants only. MTU4000 course a bonus.
ABS classed and privately registered Cayman Islands yacht with historically heavy usage. Nice USA owners. Previous usage in USA, Bahamas, Central America, Caribbean, and Mediterranean. Variety of guest trips, family trips, boy’s trips, girl’s trips, grandparent trips, etc. Active guests. Lots of tender usage, fishing, spearfishing, watersports.
MTU 4000 mains and three Caterpillar generators. Under 3,000 kilowatts total propulsion power.
We tow a 42-foot center console with triple Mercury 400 outboards. We also have a 24-foot Grady White, and two Yamaha Waverunners. Engineer responsible for mechanical and electrical maintenance of the 42-foot center console fishing boat, Grady White, and Waverunners, only when outside South Florida. In South Florida we generally use dealers.
480GRT, extra-large 43M, basically equivalent to a 50M interior volume. USA built 2015 Christensen. 10 year survey completed in March 2025.
AV/IT skills are necessary, but not at expert levels, good knowledge of Starlink, VSAT, and TVRO. General knowledge of Crestron. Kerio, Ruckus, and Pepwave experience would be appreciated.
Neat and organized, able to manage inventory effectively. Must keep accurate records. It is essential that the candidate be careful and attentive. We aim to maintain and improve the yacht and this requires an individual who is willing to treat it well. In general, the candidate must be always willing to learn and study, working towards solutions. We have plenty of funds available to keep the yacht running and making some upgrades as well.
Ability to see the big picture and triage jobs as needed.
The salary range is 9,000 to 10,000 USD x12, Christmas bonus at owners’ discretion of up to one month’s salary (candidates onboard less than one year most likely pro-rated), medical coverage, paid economy flights.

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
