A little about the itinerary:
The boat is currently in a mini refit in Australia and should depart for New Zealand early in the new year. The yacht will prepare and head across the pacific towards South America, where guests will cruise for a few weeks, before rounding the Cape and heading north towards Rio, and then across the Atlantic, back to the Med for the summer, where the vessel will charter, and be a part of the America’s Cup, after which the boat will head to the yard in Palma for the winter to replace decks and have a paint job.
The owners are American, very nice, but like to be quite involved. The schedule is also quite busy, as the yacht will be on the go pretty much solidly for the next year. So with all the miles, It’d be great to get a with chef with a bit of experience under their belts who enjoys being at sea, adventure and travel. The yacht won’t be on the dock or in any major hubs for the most part. So looking for crew who are quite calm and keen for an adventure in off the beaten track locations
The boat is going to do some miles over the next year, so someone unattached would be better, however the vessel is also couple friendly when a position opens up.. At the moment it is a standard SEA contract under UK flag, which amounts to just over 40 days of paid leave, flights. There is a bonus scheme and the owners are lovely and often treat the crew to various ‘experiences’ along the way.
For the chef:
We will be chartering, so we need someone who can really impress the guests. But someone who is capable and creative when feeding crew after long periods at sea without the opportunity to obtain fresh provisions. As you know, keeping crew happy is often more important than the guest side of things. A sailing background would be extremely helpful. We can't have the chef turning green while we're bobbing in the Southern Ocean. They will need, STCW, ENG1, Food Hygiene (As a minimum) Start date would be in January.
