About This role

Sous/Crew Chef – Temporary Position – 62m M/Y

An exciting opportunity is available for a talented Sous/Crew Chef to join a busy 62m motor yacht on a temporary contract to cover the current chef's annual leave. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will be involved in both guest and crew catering, supporting a professional galley team during an active cruising programme.

Start date: 19 June – 12 July

Itinerary: Mediterranean

Package: Salary paid in Euros, pro rata daily-rate

Experience/Skills required:

  • Ideally 12–18 months’ previous experience as a Sole Chef or Sous/Crew Chef on 50m+ yachts
  • Several years’ experience in professional restaurants
  • Experience assisting with guest food preparation and presentation
  • Menu planning and preparation of three crew meals per day
  • Strong knowledge of international cuisines and varied menu planning, including vegetarian/vegan
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Experience catering for food allergies and dietary restrictions
  • Willing to remain on board for security watches approximately every four days
  • Experience with provisioning using local supermarkets (transportation provided by the yacht)
  • Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the galley, freezers, refrigerators and dry stores in accordance with cleaning schedules
  • Professional presentation and positive team attitude

Qualifications required:

  • STCW (fully updated) with PDSD
  • Seafarer’s Medical Certificate
  • Food Safety & Hygiene Level 2
  • Ships Cook Certificate (preferred)

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht or a Cruise Ship.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications:

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
