Position Overview
A private 80m Motor Yacht is seeking an experienced Crew Chef with the ability to step up as Relief Head Chef during owners' visits. This role is ideal for a motivated and organised chef who can manage the crew galley independently while delivering guest-standard cuisine when required.
Job Description
Preparation of daily crew meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) from Monday to Friday. Advance preparation of meals for weekends when required. Ability to cater for up to 20–25 crew members when the full team is onboard. Full responsibility for the crew galley, including provisioning, stock control and cleanliness. Maintaining high hygiene and food safety standards at all times. Producing guest-level meals when acting as Relief Head Chef during owners' trips. Working autonomously while coordinating with senior crew as needed.
Crew Information
Normal crew size: 10–15. Maximum crew onboard: up to 25.
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience working as a chef on yachts. Fluent English and French (mandatory). EU passport mandatory. Valid STCW Basic Safety Training. ENG1 Medical Certificate. Food Safety / Hygiene Certificate. Ship Cook Certificate. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. High standards of hygiene and professionalism. Non-smoker preferred.
Package
Salary: €3,000 per month (off season). Up to €5,000 per month (season), depending on experience. Leave: 2.5 days paid leave per month or rotational option for long-term commitment. Accommodation: Live onboard. Position: Stable, long-term opportunity.
Work Experience Requirements:
All applicants must have previous experience in working on yachts matching the following requirements:
- Yacht sizes: 50-69m or > 70m
- Experience length: min 5 years
Language Requirements:
Good knowledge of the following languages is required: English, French
Certificates and Qualifications:
All applicants must hold a valid ENG1 certificate to be able to apply for this position.
A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
