Silver Swan seeks a professional Chalet Management Couple – a chef and house manager – to manage a 850 sqm luxury chalet in the French Alps, with the goal of building a trusted, long-term partnership with the owners for a rewarding career. Set in a private location with stunning views, a 5-minute drive from town, the chalet offers two dedicated parking spots at the bottom of the slopes for convenient ski access. A multi-year winner of the Best Ski Chalet in France at the World Ski Awards, it has recently undergone a 3-year renovation and complete overhaul by a leading UK interior designer, adding a 20m indoor-outdoor pool, gym, sauna, steam room, cinema, listening room, and premium entertainment spaces, ensuring exceptional quality for its opening season in 2025/26.

This role supports a young family with two children, caring employers with deep regional ties, in realizing their dream residence. They will use the chalet for 5 weeks in winter and 2–3 weeks in summer, with select rental guests (14+) in other weeks. The couple will provide thoughtful, discreet, high-quality service, prioritizing authenticity over flashiness. The position starts as seasonal (November 2025–March/April 2026) with potential for year-round employment based on performance. Structured off-season travel to support the family elsewhere can be discussed with the right candidate.

Please Note: Candidates must hold an EU passport/Right to work in France prior to applying as, unfortunately, we do not offer visa sponsorship. If you do not hold an EU passport/Right to work in France upon applying, your application will NOT be considered.

  • Coordinate a flexible staff team (e.g., housekeepers, drivers) with strong teamwork skills.
  • Handle supplies, inventory, local supplier relationships, and wine cellar/cave maintenance.
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness and comfort.

  • Prepare wellness-focused, fine-dining meals for potentially more than 14 guests, tailored to family and guest needs, including child-friendly options.
  • Create weekly menus, accommodating dietary requirements with care.
  • Maintain kitchen hygiene and manage provisioning.

Guest & Family Services:

  • Serve as the primary contact for guests and the family, delivering discreet, 5-star service.
  • Coordinate arrivals, departures, and inquiries, ensuring the family’s children and relatives feel at home.
  • Provide transport to/from pistes or town using the provided vehicle, with two parking spots at the slopes.
  • Offer thoughtful services (e.g., spa bookings, family activities).
  • Be available for potential off-season travel to support the family, as discussed.

Additional Duties:

  • Assist with family events during summer weeks (2–3 weeks) and off-season.
  • Support the chalet’s relaunch for its opening season to maintain its reputation.

Ideal Candidates:

  • A chef and house manager, each with an EU passport, right to work in France, and valid driver’s license.
  • 5+ years’ experience in luxury chalet management, private households, or 5-star hospitality.
  • Chef: Professional training or high-end kitchen experience in fine dining and wellness cuisine.
  • House Manager: Expertise in property management, housekeeping, staff leadership, and guest relations.
  • Fluent in English; French proficiency preferred.
  • Discreet, organized, team-oriented, and adaptable, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Trustworthy and committed to a long-term role, thriving in a family-focused environment with potential travel.

Package:

  • Contract: Seasonal (November 2025–March 2026), with potential for year-round role based on performance.
  • Salary: €6,000 + Net Combined per month DOE, with discretionary bonus possible for strong performers.
  • Accommodation: High-spec, private one-bedroom apartment on-site with kitchen and lounge, like the main house.
  • Benefits: Ski passes, dedicated vehicle, meals on duty, travel to/from resort, insurance.
  • Schedule: 5–6 days/week, with 1–2 days off, flexible for peak periods.
