A warm, friendly UHNW family of six based in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a full-time Private Chef to join their household starting in August 2025. The ideal candidate is down-to-earth, detail-oriented, and experienced in preparing delicious, family-style dinners.

This role is centered around thoughtful meal planning and dinner preparation, with occasional breakfast support and rare lunch service. The family values a chef who is easygoing, proactive, and committed to maintaining a tidy, well-organized kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dinner Preparation: Cook and serve dinner Monday to Friday; occasional weekend dinners based on schedule.
  • Breakfast Prep: Light preparation for breakfast as needed (e.g., prepping smoothies, fruits, or pre-made items).
  • Lunch: Rarely required, but flexibility appreciated.
  • Grocery & Inventory: Manage pantry and fridge inventory; conduct weekly grocery shopping and source high-quality ingredients.
  • Kitchen Management: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen; perform deep cleans after heavy use.
  • Meal Planning: Coordinate simple, nutritious weekly menus based on seasonal ingredients and family preferences.
  • Family-Focused: Comfortable cooking for a family with four children aged 4–12; child-friendly meals are a must.
  • Weekend Flexibility: Weekend schedule is communicated in advance (on-call or scheduled as needed).

Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar private chef role or high-end hospitality.
  • Warm, approachable, and child-friendly.
  • Strong organizational skills with a proactive attitude.
  • Confident in creating varied, health-conscious family meals.
  • Culinary degree a plus, but not essential.
  • Able to manage own schedule and kitchen operations independently.

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications:

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
