About this role

Sole Engineer – Private/Charter 40m M/Y
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Sole Engineer to join a well-maintained 40m motor yacht operating as both private and charter. This is a single-season, family-oriented yacht with a friendly crew and an excellent maintenance budget. The position is ideal for someone hands-on and technically strong, looking to join a professional yet relaxed environment. Candidates must currently be located in Europe.

Start date: June 2025
Itinerary: Mediterranean
Package: Salary paid in Euros DOE, 40 days leave per year

Experience/Skills required:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as Sole Engineer or as Second Engineer on 50m+ M/Y
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Hands-on, proactive, and team-oriented
• Fluent English (spoken and written)
• Positive and adaptable character

Qualifications required:
• Minimum Y3, or MTU certificate/ EOOW
• STCW (fully updated) with PSA/PDSD
• Seafarer’s Medical Certificate
• Shipyard experience highly beneficial (major yard period planned for Sept/Oct)
• Male only due to cabin arrangements
• Non-smoker preferred

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht or a Cruise Ship.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications:

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
