Sous Chef – Palma de Mallorca

Silver Swan is currently seeking an experienced Seasonal Sous Chef for our returning client's stunning property in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. The ideal Sous Chef candidate will have extensive experience in private households, villas, and chalets, holding an EU passport and able to demonstrate proficiency in both English and Spanish. This creative and rewarding Sous Chef role involves working with a team of chefs, utilising home-grown and locally sourced produce. The clients primarily visit over weekends, with a busy period expected in July and August.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting the Head Chef organising and coordinating the kitchen efficiently
• Manage budget and suppliers effectively
• Provide daily reports to the manager
• Organise menus for each dinner and lunch with the Head Chef
• Arrange and prepare catering for parties and special events
• Provide dinner service to a fine dining standard
• Serve and cater for VIP owners and their guests
• Design and plan harvests from the property's gardens for fresh, home-grown produce
• Design tasteful, contemporary menus and plated dishes with the Head Chef

Ideal Candidate:

• Well-spoken in English and Spanish
• Hardworking and able to collaborate in a team
• Experience in private households, villas, or chalets, as well as fine dining restaurants
• Confident in designing new menus for each guest visit if needed
• Down-to-earth and approachable
• Holder of a valid driving licence

Package:

• Accommodation: Live-in, provided in a 2-bedroom apartment
• Work Schedule: Busy work weeks with time off, 5 days per week, 2 days off. Extra hours will be pay apart. 
• Start Date: ASAP until October 2024
