Housekeeper/Cook – Dubai

Silver Swan is looking for an experienced and exceptionally well-organised Housekeeper/Cook, to work for our UHNW client in Dubai.

The Housekeeper/Cook would be responsible for managing the maid in her daily duties and maintaining a clean, sanitary, comfortable, and tidy environment for the family’s household, as well as creating nutritious and delicious family style meals.

Our esteemed client is a European family of 4, who places great value on healthy nutritious food, and values tranquility and privacy in their household. The ideal candidate will be able to cook delicious and healthy Mediterranean food family-style, yet to a high standard. Due to the extent of EU travel (at least 3 full months a year), only candidates with a European Passport will be considered. 

Previous experience in this dual role of Housekeeper/Cook is essential, in order to be considered. The role requires:

• A strict no-stress policy within the household, ensuring that all interactions and duties are carried out with the utmost respect for the family’s peace and well-being. 
• Privacy: Valuing undisturbed personal space and intimate family moments of the Family. 
• Cooking is not just a task; it is an essential component of the families daily life and well-being.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Lead by example and train the maid to help them achieve their full potential
• Comply and contribute to procedures /checklists as needed, and make sure the maids comply with those procedures and checklists 
• Housekeeping of the whole property such as mopping, sweeping, dusting, ironing, handling the laundry 
• Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to the procedures and checklists created by the Family Manager
• Maintain equipment (such as coffee machine, washing machine, dish washer, vacuum, kettle) and make sure they are working properly. Report any damages in a timely manner to the Family Manager 
• Notify the Family Manager on any damages, deficit, and disturbances that are not in line with the procedures of the family 
• Assistance with the children on occasion and when required
• Running errands, and on-demand requests of the family 

• Follow directions given by the Family Manager  
• Check stocks level of all consumables/perishable items according to procedures  
• Cooking healthy and balanced meals for the family as needed (it will usually be dinner for two children and the parents with occasional requirements for assistance with breakfast and lunch.  Sometimes there will be cooking required for larger groups when friends and family are staying)
• Adhere to health, safety and security rules and protocols 
• Job location is in Dubai but traveling abroad with the family as needed during the year and up to 2 to 3 months during summertime. 

Ideal Candidate:
– Previous experience as a Housekeeper/Cook is essential, in order to be considered.
– Knowledge and experience of cooking healthy and nutritious Mediterranean food, to a high standard.
– A well-organised and calm personality
– European passport required, due to extensive EU travel
– Non-smoker

Package:

• Salary: USD 4,500/month, DOE
• Live out position. Accommodation might be arranged with prior discussion and agreement
• 1 return flight ticket per year after completion of the first 12-month of service
• Traveling with the family whenever needed / accommodation provided during travels (and could be shared with other house staff)
