Position Snapshot

• Fulltime role, 60 days annual Leave
• Prefer Australian / NZ chefs

A 50M + motor yacht is currently searching for a HEAD CHEF to join their crew of 13.
Joining in South East Asia the yacht will depart for Bali on the 1st May where it will be based for the next 6 months, with trips to Komodo and neighbouring Islands
After which the yacht may head to Thailand or Maldives, although South Pacific could also be an option
The successful candidate will be required to have experience on a similar size or larger yacht, restaurant experience prior to yachting would be beneficial also.
Longevity in previous yacht jobs is very favourable. You will need to be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and very organised, clean, and tidy in the Galley.
You will need to be prepared for last minute changes of plans when the owners are on board. You will need to have a clean and tidy appearance at all times and be a good communicator with a great “can-do” attitude.
The Owners will approve menus daily - you will need to communicate well with the Chief Stewardess to provide menus and options as required and as requested.
The Owners like to eat family style. They enjoy modern “Australian/New Zealand modern café style” food - think Bill’s, Ottolenghi, Winona Forever etc… Healthy, light, fresh, and interesting with modern plating styles. The owners also love to have beach BBQ whenever possible.
The boat will be in remote locations, so experience with provisioning in ‘out of the way’ places is a must.

There will be a galley assistant/galley hand (in a shared role with the interior) to assist with cleaning and preparation.

The Ideal Candidate

• Head Chef / Sous chef experience on good calibre superyachts
• Culinary trained
• Experience with Modern Australian / NZ
• Can source only the freshest of produce
• Health conscious without sacrificing taste
• Enjoys working off the beaten track
• Can provision remotely and enjoys the challenge
• Active and enjoys the crew environment
• Australian / NZ passport holders preferred
