Chief Electrical Engineer (fulltime)

As SILENT-YACHTS we introduced a new era of yachting with the help of our solar powered luxury catamarans. Our mission is to create an independent and environmentally friendly yachting experience which combines the silent cruising of a sailing boat with the luxury of a motor yacht. With the help of solar power, we are manifesting this mission day by day. We are the leading pioneers in an increasingly growing market. Therefore, we are seeking a skilled and ambitious Chief Electrical Engineer for an immediate entry (fulltime)

QUALIFICATION

• Finished education in engineering (post 2nd grade or university)
• Very good knowledge of CAN Bus Systems (CAN open, J1939, NMEA2000, ...)
• Very good knowledge of high voltage drivetrains
• Experience of off grid solar systems
• Good knowledge of system integration in marine applications
• Passion for boats/yachts in general (boating license is an advantage)
• Basics in mechanical engineering
• Basics in CAD software
• Able to work independently and in a structured manner
• Organizational skills, flexibility, and reliability
• “Hands-on” mentality
• Strong verbal and written communications skills in English (further languages like Italian and German preferred)
• Experience with Microsoft Office (MS Teams experience is welcome)
• Willingness to travel

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Selection and purchasing of components
• Drawing of concepts and plans such as production and harness plans
• Leading and training of an international team of electricians and engineers
• Remote customer support
• Electrical R&D of boats
• Training of production facilities and commissioning personal
• Quality checks and commissioning in the shipyard
• Project management of electrical systems
• Special customer projects

For this position we offer a salary according to the collective agreement with the willingness to generous overpayment, according to the qualification.

Please note that in order to be hired for this position you do not have to necessarily live in Austria. As we all work remotely from our home offices we hire from other European countries as well.
