• $920 / Day
• Possible for ongoing work on 4-5 week equal time swing
• Initial contract from 10th September – 5th November

The engineer will need to have a strong background in diesel electric propulsion systems, particularly with power management.

Employment will be casual for now, however possibility to go ongoing/ long term engineer for this vessel, with committed work until May 22

vessel departs on 10th or 11th from Cairns, returning to Tasmania around 5th November.

Will need to be fully vaccinated to enter Tahiti.

The charter is with National Geographic with a focus on scientific research

About the Vessel

54m diesel electric multi purpose vessel. She has 6 of Volvo Penta generators, 2 of azimuth stern drives, 2 of bow thrusters one being a swing down azimuth thruster. DP and power management is Praxis. Vessel is just on 5 years of age.

Engineer needs to have a strong background in electrical systems given she is diesel electric.

very strong Master onboard at the moment who knows her systems inside out, he has been onboard for 3 years. We run the vessel with two engineers for basic operations.

Long term swing lengths will be approx 4-5 weeks pending on contract or client.

The successful engineer must have an AMSA endorsed class 2 or 1 with all certificates / seafarer medical up to date
