Engineer / Deck 30m Private MY – Auckland Based (cruising South Pacific, Kimberley’s)

• Couple Friendly (with Stewardess) or solo
• Home base in Auckland (live ashore when in Auckland)
• 2-year program

A high profile, well run private yacht is looking for a new Engineer to join their professional program
The yacht, will maintain a home base in Auckland for the next 2 years but will venture out to the South Pacific Islands and Australia (Kimberley/Top end region), (COVID restrictions permitting) will also be in Auckland for the Americas cup

There is a preference from the owner for the Engineer / Deck to live ashore whilst the yacht is in Auckland (therefore candidates should have their own accommodation in Auckland)

The yacht undertakes a relaxed family orientated cruising schedule.

There is a particular focus on fishing and diving with this vessel and candidates with experience or qualifications in this area will be highly considered

The engineer will be comfortable with a blended role looking to take ownership of his/her department.

Captain is an engineer by trade and can offer assistance when needed

The yacht will also operate a 32’ Intrepid that the deck/engineer should be comfortable driving
The yacht is couple friendly and open to either solo candidates or candidates partnered with an experienced stewardess or deck/stew

The yacht is looking for very experienced candidates and will pay accordingly to qualifications and experience, must be comfortable in a blended engineer & deck position

After the 2-year program the yacht will travel out to Europe

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous Sole engineer, 2nd engineer or Engineer/Mate experience
• Strong engineering experience, trade qualified preferred
• Power Boat Level 2 minimum, comfortable driving tenders
• Flexible on ticket requirement
• Experience with Fishing & Diving would be advantageous
• Good technical aptitude
• Own Accommodation in Auckland
• Will offer a firm commitment for 1-2 years

Start- Early June 2020

Salary- Proportionate to the candidate’s experience level, tell us your expectation. Will pay above the average for a vessel of this size
