Chief Engineer X 2 (Rotation, 2:2) 54m Charter MY – Australia & New Zealand

A high profile 54m Motor Yacht is looking for a new Chief Engineer to join their professional team.

The rotations will commence monthly but may switch to weekly when being operated out of Sydney

The yacht has recently arrived into Australia and is therefore looking for an almost entire new crew compliment with work rights for Australia/New Zealand

The yacht will maintain a home base in Sydney harbour undertaking a mixture of day and term charters, operating both domestically and internationally.

The upcoming summer will be completely based in Sydney with some trips to Palm Beach and other surrounding areas.

The following winter the yacht will venture North to Queensland before crossing over for some remote island cruising in Fiji

Next Summer (2020) will be spent in Sydney before crossing over to NZ to enjoy the festivities of the Americas Cup

Mid 2021 – the yacht will undertake its 15-year survey

As the yacht will be Australian flagged and commercial, the positions are only open to candidates with work rights for Australia/ New Zealand & who possess commercial qualifications that are/or can be, endorsed by AMSA

The Ideal Candidate

• MEC 3 or MEC 2 (preferable)
• STCW
• Seafarer medical (willing to obtain AMSA medical)
• Superyacht Chief Engineer experience
• Can work within a full ISM framework
• An understanding of AMSA Survey requirements
• Excellent project management skills
• Can work effectively with rotating chief engineer
• Runs a meticulous preventative maintenance schedule
• Full work rights for Australia/NZ
• Off rotation home base in Australia or NZ

Start- As soon as candidates are found/available

Rotation- 2 months on / 2 months off, with potential to go weekly in Sydney harbour

Salary- Above industry standard, negotiable on experience, Salary in AUS Dollars. Income tax is deducted at source, Superannuation of 9.5% is in addition. Full Medical insurance

Contracts are Australian Fair Work act based while a DCV and MLC when international
