Chef 40m Private SY- New Zealand, Hawaii, Alaska

Are you an experienced yacht chef looking to be based in New Zealand half the year?

Do you enjoy being a part of a mature and seasoned crew, working for great owners?

A 40m SY currently travelling New Zealand is on the search for an experienced chef to join their team of 5.

The yacht spends around 6 months of the year sailing New Zealand and the other 6 months adventuring varying destinations that takes the owners interest.

The yacht will depart NZ around the 20th May heading towards Hawaii where it will undertake a short owners trip.

From there the yacht will make way to Alaska for some off the beaten track sailing before heading back to New Zealand for the summer season.

The yacht also has plans to be in New Zealand for the Americas cup in a few years’ time

The owners use the yacht intermittently with trips usually lasting around 2 weeks duration.

A longer trip usually takes place over the New Zealand summer of up to 2 months.

The owners are a relaxed American couple who enjoy fairly simple homestyle cooking including Italian, Mediterranean and seafood.

Shared cabin arrangements with the stewardess (open to both male and female chefs)

The Ideal Chef

• 2-3 years as a chef on travelling yachts
• Some culinary courses completed (or trade qualified)
• Sailing experience a plus but open to motor yachts (must have sea legs)
• Can provision in remote locations
• Relaxed and personable who enjoys travel and adventure
• Happy to join a mature crew ranging from 30’s-50’s
• Open to candidate’s world wide
• Maintain clean and organised stores
• Looking for a long-term commitment
• Good references and menu samples available
• Start Date- Flexible (within the next 6 weeks)

Salary - $6000 US / month
