We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Chief Engineer to join our 50m charter motor yacht on a 2:2 rotation.

The ideal candidate will be a practical, hands-on engineer who genuinely enjoys getting stuck in and fixing things. We are looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining the yacht to a high standard, is proactive rather than reactive, and is happy to get involved with all aspects of the engineering operation.

  • Proven Chief Engineer experience on a similar-sized vessel preferred
  • Strong practical engineering and troubleshooting skills
  • A genuinely hands-on engineer who enjoys fixing things and getting stuck in
  • Strong preventative maintenance and organisational skills

  • Charter experience preferred
  • Valid STCW, ENG1 and Y3 minimum B1/B2 Visa- all certificates must be current

  • Gratuity is split evenly with the other rotational Engineer.

Further details will be discussed during interview stages.

We are looking for a Chief Engineer to join our current Chief in a solid long-term partnership, taking pride in keeping the vessel running safely and efficiently.

This is a very busy 50m charter vessel, so the successful candidate needs to be hands-on and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. We are not looking for someone who wants to simply manage from the office; you should be the type of Engineer who enjoys getting your hands dirty, troubleshooting problems and finding practical solutions.

We have a great crew and place a strong emphasis on maintaining a positive and harmonious atmosphere on board. We are looking for someone who will fit into that culture, work well as part of the team and contribute positively to the yacht.

The upcoming programme includes a busy yard period in Washington State. Future cruising plans involve Central America and Alaska for summer 2027.

Attitude is everything. We want to hire an Engineer who takes their role seriously, is proud of their work and enjoys being part of a good team.

Certificates and Qualifications:

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
