About This role

Rotational Chief Engineer – Private/ Charter 49m M/Y

We are looking for an experienced and technically skilled Chief Engineer to join a motor yacht on a rotational basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, hands-on Engineer with strong technical knowledge, excellent organisational skills and a professional approach to yacht operations.

Start date: Approximately 13 January 2027

Itinerary: Mediterranean

Package: Salary in Euros, based on a consolidated daily rate whilst on board, 8–10 weeks on/off rotation.

Experience/Skills required:

  • Proven experience as Chief Engineer on similar-sized motor yachts
  • Strong mechanical, electrical and engineering systems knowledge
  • Confident managing planned maintenance, troubleshooting and technical operations
  • Experience coordinating contractors, spare parts and engineering budgets
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proactive, reliable and committed to maintaining high safety standards

Qualifications required:

  • Y3 Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency or higher (essential)
  • STCW (fully updated)
  • Seafarer's Medical Certificate (ENG1 or equivalent)
  • Seaman's Discharge Book (preferred)

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht or a Cruise Ship.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications:

All applicants must hold a valid ENG1 certificate to be able to apply for this position.

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
