Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and detail-oriented Yacht Maintenance Specialist to oversee the maintenance, inspection, and upkeep of yachts and marine equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and technical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to identify and address maintenance issues before they become major problems.

The Yacht Maintenance Specialist will help ensure that the vessel remains safe, clean, operational, and properly maintained in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and applicable safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Perform routine and preventative maintenance on yachts and marine equipment.

Inspect engines, generators, pumps, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC systems, and other onboard equipment.

Identify mechanical, electrical, structural, and cosmetic issues.

Perform repairs, adjustments, replacements, and troubleshooting as needed.

Maintain engines and other mechanical systems according to recommended service schedules.

Check fluid levels, filters, belts, hoses, batteries, and other components.

Inspect and maintain safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, alarms, emergency equipment, and navigation-related systems.

Maintain exterior and interior areas of the yacht in clean and presentable condition.

Assist with cleaning, polishing, detailing, painting, and minor cosmetic repairs.

Monitor for signs of corrosion, leaks, wear, or water damage.

Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.

Follow all vessel safety procedures and applicable marine regulations.

Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergency repairs.

Perform other yacht maintenance duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous yacht, boat, marine, mechanical, or facilities maintenance experience preferred.

Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.

Basic understanding of marine electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC systems.

Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to read maintenance manuals, technical documentation, and equipment specifications.

Good organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong commitment to safety and proper maintenance procedures.

Ability to work in varying weather and marine environments.

Physical ability to perform routine maintenance tasks, including lifting, climbing, bending, and working in confined areas when required.

Preferred Skills

Experience working on luxury yachts, boats, or other marine vessels.

Marine mechanical or electrical certifications.

Experience with diesel engines and generators.

Knowledge of marine plumbing, pumps, HVAC, and water systems.

Experience with fiberglass, gelcoat, painting, or other yacht cosmetic repairs.

Familiarity with navigation and onboard communication systems.

Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.

Experience maintaining detailed service and maintenance records.

Strong communication and coordination skills.
