We are seeking a Deckhand/Carpenter to join an 85m private/charter expedition yacht. The position will initially be offered as a 2–3 month temporary contract, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

The temporary period will include a European shipyard period followed by a crossing to the Caribbean. The yacht’s longer-term programme will see her operate a private/charter season in the Caribbean before returning to Northern Europe for the summer private/charter season.

The role:

  • Full Deckhand position supporting the day-to-day running and maintenance of the exterior
  • Carpentry duties will include, but are not limited to, replacing teak planks, painting and general repairs
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Initial 2–3 month temporary contract
  • European shipyard period followed by a Caribbean crossing
  • Potential to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum of 6 months’ yachting experience preferred
  • Less experienced candidates will be considered if they have a strong carpentry background
  • Strong previous carpentry experience essential
  • Valid B1/B2 visa essential
  • Open to male and female candidates

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications:

All applicants must hold a valid ENG1 certificate to be able to apply for this position.

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
