About This role

Rotational Chief Engineer – Charter 49 m M/Y

An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Rotational Chief Engineer to join a busy 49 m private motor yacht with a professional, mixed crew. The yacht is seeking a capable, hands-on engineer with strong technical knowledge and a calm, solutions-focused approach.

Candidates currently located in Europe or the UK will be given priority.

Start date: 4 September 2026
Itinerary: Worldwide – TBC
Package: Salary paid in Euros, 2:2 rotation

Experience/Skills required:

  • Minimum three years’ experience as Chief Engineer or Sole Engineer aboard a 40m+ motor or sailing yacht
  • Excellent electrical and mechanical skills
  • Strong organisational and communication abilities
  • Practical, proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • Professional presentation and ability to work well within an established crew
  • Non-smoker with no visible tattoos
  • Male candidates only due to cabin arrangements

Qualifications required:

  • Y4 minimum; Y3 preferred
  • MTU certification preferred but not required for candidates holding a commercial CoC
  • STCW fully updated, including PDSD
  • Advanced Fire Fighting
  • Seafarer's Medical Certificate
  • Seaman's Discharge Book preferred

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht or a Cruise Ship.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications:

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
