This is an exciting opportunity to join a professionally run 35m private motor yacht with a close-knit crew of six. Based on the Gold Coast, the yacht enjoys cruising Australia's east coast and occasionally heading to New Zealand and Fiji.

The Program

  • Gold Coast home base
  • Approximately 2 months cruising the Whitsundays
  • Local owner use throughout the year
  • New Zealand & Fiji cruising planned in the new season
  • Occasional international travel

The Role

As Sole Chef, you will be responsible for all aspects of the galley, delivering exceptional meals for the owner, guests and crew. The owner enjoys fresh, healthy cuisine with classic flavours and has specific dietary requirements, including diabetic-friendly meals. You should be confident preparing a wide variety of international cuisines, with experience in:

  • Indian
  • English
  • Chinese
  • Japanese
  • Seafood

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Full galley management, provisioning and budgeting
  • Menu planning for owner, guests and crew
  • Preparing high-quality, healthy meals tailored to dietary preferences
  • Daily crew meals
  • Maintaining exceptional hygiene and organisation within the galley
  • Working closely with the Captain and crew to deliver a first-class onboard experience

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous yacht chef experience preferred
  • Professionally trained chef with a strong culinary background
  • Confident preparing a wide variety of international cuisines
  • Excellent provisioning and organisational skills
  • Calm, flexible and positive attitude
  • High attention to detail and pride in presentation
  • Enjoys working as part of a professional, friendly crew

Required Qualifications

  • STCW 2010
  • Food Hygiene Level 2
  • Valid ENG1 or AMSA Certificate of Medical Fitness (AMSA 303)

Package

  • USD $7,000–9,000 per month DOE
  • Permanent position (90-day probation)
  • Seafarers Employment Agreement

Work Experience Requirements:
