Magnitude Recruitment is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to join the galley team onboard a prestigious 70m+ private motor yacht. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised culinary professional who thrives in a busy, high-end yachting environment and is committed to delivering exceptional cuisine for Owners, guests, and crew.

Working on a dynamic private programme, the successful candidate will lead all galley operations, creating outstanding dining experiences while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, organisation, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the galley operation.
  • Plan and prepare exceptional, restaurant-quality cuisine tailored to Owner and guest preferences.
  • Produce varied, nutritious, and high-quality crew meals.
  • Design seasonal and bespoke menus for private trips and special occasions.
  • Source premium ingredients and manage provisioning efficiently across multiple cruising destinations.
  • Maintain strict food hygiene, HACCP procedures, and galley cleanliness.
  • Manage galley budgets, stock control, inventory, and minimise waste.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Work closely with the Interior team to deliver seamless guest service.
  • Train, mentor, and support junior galley crew where applicable.
  • Adapt confidently to changing itineraries, dietary requirements, and last-minute requests.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience as Head Chef onboard a 60m+ private or charter yacht.
  • Strong background in luxury hospitality, Michelin-standard restaurants, or five-star establishments.
  • Exceptional knowledge of international cuisine with the ability to cater to a wide variety of dietary preferences and cultural tastes.
  • Confident producing refined à la carte dining as well as family-style service.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong provisioning and budget management experience.
  • Calm under pressure with a proactive, positive attitude.
  • Professional appearance and excellent communication skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to the demands of a busy yachting programme.

Qualifications

  • STCW Basic Safety Training
  • Valid ENG1 Medical
  • Food Safety & Hygiene Level 2 (minimum)
  • Ship's Cook Certificate (preferred)
  • Culinary qualifications from a recognised institution are advantageous
  • Valid passport and any relevant visas
