Position: Private Cook / Stew

Vessel: 144ft Private Yacht

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (Year-Round) - Full Benefits, Retirement Package & Insurance

Salary: Open / DOE

Location: Primarily SE USA, property in the west and the yacht.

Overview

A warm and respectful private couple is seeking an experienced Private Cook / Stew for a long-term hybrid land/yacht position.

This role is primarily shore-based, with travel between the principals' residences and occasional time onboard their 144ft private yacht.

The ideal candidate is a mature, adaptable cook/stew who enjoys variety, values healthy living, and is looking for stability and a long-term role, rather than a charter-style rotational position.

Schedule

  • Generally structured schedule when shore-based
  • Candidate needs to adapt to changing schedules.
  • Flexibility required during travel and yacht period

Role Breakdown

50% Cooking | 50% Stewardess / Housekeeping & Household Support

Cooking Responsibilities

• Prepare daily lunch for the principals (occasionally packaged for office meals)

• Prepare dinner for the couple

• Light breakfast preparation for the following morning

Seasonal menu planning focused on healthy, balanced, calorie-conscious cuisine

• Confident cooking gluten-free meals from scratch

Provisioning and sourcing high-quality, organic ingredients

Kitchen and galley inventory management

• Maintain immaculate kitchen standards and food safety practices

Stewardess / Support Duties

• Table setting, service, and clearing

• Provide stewardess support when onboard the yacht (when not cooking)

• Assist with packing, unpacking, and laundry during travel

• Provide organizational support across properties

• Work closely with housekeeping staff, the personal maid, and personal assistants

• Maintain organized living and kitchen spaces

Ideal Candidate Profile

5+ years' experience as a private cook/chef in private households or yachts

• Previous cook/stew or dual-role yachting experience preferred

• Strong focus on healthy, nutritious cooking

• Highly organized, proactive, and self-sufficient

Flexible, hands-on, and service-oriented

• Calm, discreet, and professional demeanor

• Exceptional hygiene and cleanliness standards

Requirements

• Fluent English

• Valid U.S. driver's license and confident driving in city environments (occasional driving for the principals may be required)

• Legal authorization to work in the United States

• Excellent, verifiable references

Salary based on experience.

Certificates and Qualifications:

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
