We are working with a private client based in Cannes to recruit an experienced Private Yacht Chef for a seasonal position aboard their 32M/Y. This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented chef to work within a luxury private setting, catering to a principal, their family, and a full crew across the Mediterranean.
The position commences on 12th June and concludes on 1st August, beginning in Cannes before travelling throughout the Mediterranean Sea. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, varied cuisine for up to 12 guests and crew daily, with a strong emphasis on Asian, Indian, and Arabic cookery being a distinct advantage.
This role is open to both male and female candidates. All meals are to be prepared without pork or alcohol. The chef will have their own private bedroom onboard and will be expected to maintain the highest standards of hygiene and presentation throughout the voyage.
Candidates must hold an EU passport prior to applying as, unfortunately, we do not offer visa sponsorship. If you do not hold an EU passport upon applying, your application will not be considered.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve all meals for 2 principals, 2 children, and 8 crew members — up to 12 covers per service
- Plan and execute menus across a variety of cuisines, with expertise in Asian, Indian, and Arabic cooking highly desirable
- Cook staff and family meals to a consistently high standard, ensuring dietary preferences are accommodated
- Adhere strictly to a no pork and no alcohol policy throughout all meal preparation
- Manage provisioning, stock control, and galley supplies to ensure seamless meal service
- Maintain impeccable galley cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with maritime standards
- Liaise with the principal and crew regarding dietary requirements, preferences, and scheduling
- Plan menus in advance to account for port availability, storage, and budget considerations
- Work efficiently within an 8-hour working day whilst maintaining exceptional standards
- Adapt menus to reflect seasonal produce and regional specialities encountered during the voyage
- Ensure all food is prepared, stored, and handled in line with health and safety requirements
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as a chef aboard a private or charter yacht is highly desirable
- Must hold an EU Passport
- Strong culinary background with expertise across Asian, Indian, and Arabic cuisines
- Confident cooking for large numbers, including both principals and crew
- Knowledge of and strict adherence to halal dietary guidelines — no pork or alcohol
- Organised and efficient with excellent provisioning and stock management skills
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a maritime environment at sea
- Discreet, professional, and personable with a positive attitude
- Flexible and adaptable in approach, with the ability to work independently
- Valid STCW certification or equivalent maritime qualification preferred
Package
- Working schedule: 8 hours per day
- Seasonal contract: 12th June – 1st August
- Accommodation provided – private onboard cabin

Certificates and Qualifications:
A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
