50m+ Private & Charter Yacht | Mediterranean-based | Permanent Contract
About the Role
We are seeking a talented and creative Head Chef to lead the galley aboard a prestigious 50-metre private and charter yacht operating in the Mediterranean. This is a permanent, sole-chef position aboard a busy programme catering to discerning owners and charter guests, ideal for a chef who blends technical excellence with versatility, calm professionalism, and a genuine passion for the craft.
Key Responsibilities
- • Plan and execute all meals for owners, guests, and crew across private and charter operations.
- • Design bespoke, multi-course menus tailored to guest preferences, dietary requirements, and allergies.
- • Source the highest-quality local and seasonal produce in every cruising location.
- • Manage galley provisioning, inventory, budgets, and supplier relationships.
- • Maintain strict food safety, hygiene (HACCP), and allergen management standards at all times.
- • Coordinate closely with the Chief Stewardess on service timing, presentation, and guest experience.
- • Maintain galley equipment and ensure the space is operated to the highest professional standard.
- • Adapt menus seamlessly to long sea passages, remote anchorages, and last-minute itinerary changes.
Requirements
- • Proven experience as Head Chef or Sole Chef aboard superyachts 50m and above.
- • Strong background across both private and charter operations, ideally with a portfolio of charter feedback.
- • Formal culinary training and a refined, contemporary cooking style.
- • Versatility across multiple cuisines, including Mediterranean, Asian, and modern European.
- • Confident with dietary requirements: gluten-free, plant-based, allergen-conscious, and tailored guest preferences.
- • Skilled in pastry, bread, and dessert work to a high standard.
- • Solid provisioning, budgeting, and stock management experience.
- • STCW, ENG1 (or equivalent medical), and Ship's Cook Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- • Food safety and HACCP certification up to date.
- • B1/B2 US visa holder preferred; additional languages an asset.
