NOW HIRING
Chief Engineer
50m+ Superyacht | Mediterranean-based Operations | Rotational Contract

About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and committed Chief Engineer to join a well-maintained, professionally run superyacht on a rotational basis. This is a long-term opportunity with an established programme, ideal for an engineer who takes genuine pride in operating to the highest technical and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • • Take full ownership of the engineering department and all onboard systems.
  • • Develop, manage, and execute the vessel's planned maintenance system (PMS).
  • • Maintain comprehensive technical oversight of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and AV/IT systems.
  • • Proactively identify and address potential issues before they impact operations.
  • • Manage budgets, spares inventory, and vendor relationships in coordination with management.
  • • Ensure full compliance with flag state, class, and MLC requirements.
  • • Maintain accurate records, logs, and reporting in line with ISM standards.

Requirements

  • • Extensive experience as Chief Engineer aboard vessels 50m and above.
  • • Proven longevity in previous positions — loyalty and stability are highly valued.
  • • Comprehensive technical knowledge across all vessel systems.
  • • Demonstrated experience implementing and managing planned maintenance systems (PMS).
  • • Y4 (or equivalent) certification and full STCW compliance.
  • • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; additional languages an asset.
  • • Valid ENG1 medical certificate and B1/B2 visa (or willingness to obtain).

The Ideal Candidate
You are methodical, proactive, and completely reliable. You don't wait for things to break — you prevent it. You have a track record of staying with vessels and owners, and you take genuine pride in the standard of your department. You operate calmly under pressure, communicate clearly with crew and management, and bring a quietly professional presence to the engine room and beyond.

Compensation
Salary will be discussed based on experience, profile, and rotation schedule. We offer a professional, well-resourced working environment with an emphasis on long-term stability.
