Döhle Yacht Crew are seeking a hands‑on and experienced Chief Engineer to join a 45m private motor yacht currently based in the Mediterranean. This is a permanent position suited to a capable engineer who enjoys operating older vessels and managing technical demands independently while maintaining high operational standards.

The ideal candidate will hold EOOW as a minimum qualification and bring proven experience working on similar‑size or older yachts. Strong problem‑solving skills are essential, as the role requires confidence in diagnosing issues, carrying out preventative maintenance, and keeping all engineering systems running smoothly. While this is a largely autonomous role, the Chief Engineer will have support from a Deck/Engineer when required.

The yacht runs a private program with a focus on reliability, safety, and meticulous maintenance. A practical, methodical approach and good communication with the Captain and crew are key. This role would suit an engineer who is comfortable taking ownership of the engine room while contributing positively to a small, professional crew environment.

The position offers a salary of €9,000 per month, three return flights, and 90 days of leave, which must be taken during the off‑season.
