Chief Engineer opportunity aboard 55m+ Private M/Y with a base on the East Coast of Australia

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced local candidate to have a home base.

Only candidates with the legal right to work in Australia will be considered.

Start Date: ASAP

Itinerary: South Pacific cruising around Australia and beyond

Package: Competitive salary paid in AUD

Experience/Skills required:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as Chief Engineer on a similar sized yacht
• Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding skills essential
• Experience with Caterpillar engines would be advantageous
• Must be a hands-on and proactive engineer who is knowledgeable in all engineering and maintenance duties aboard
• Possess the ability to delegate to a 2nd Engineer with a diplomatic and motivational approach
• Professional appearance

Qualifications required:

• STCW Y2 III/2 CoC
• STCW (fully updated) with PDSD
• Seafarer’s Medical Certificate (with min 6 months’ validity)
• Discharge Book
