We are looking for an experienced Chief Engineer for a 40m private & charter motor yacht.

Position: Mediterranean (Croatia / Montenegro)
Salary: €7,500 / month

Responsibilities

  • Manage all onboard technical operations and machinery.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of engines, hydraulics, electrical systems.
  • Supervise technical staff and coordinate external service providers.
  • Maintain technical logs and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as Chief Engineer on yachts 35m+ (3,000 kW engines preferred).
  • Full STCW certifications and relevant technical qualifications.
  • Fluent English; additional languages a plus.
  • Leadership, reliability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Caterpillar engines.
  • Experience on similar-sized yachts.
  • Positive, reliable, hands-on person.

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on yachts matching the following requirements:

  • Yacht sizes:  30-39m or 40-49m
  • Yacht types:  motor

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications:

All applicants must hold a valid ENG1 certificate to be able to apply for this position.

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
