Overview

We are seeking a talented freelance Private Chef to support a small, busy family of three based in Marylebone, London, working on a rota basis – two weeks on, two weeks off.

This position requires a strong passion for healthy, seasonal cooking using locally sourced, sustainable ingredients, along with excellent time management skills and a flexible attitude.

This is a self-employed role with approximately 10 shifts per two week rota, depending on the family’s schedule.

Shift times (when the family is in residence):

Breakfast: 07:00 – 12:00
Lunch: 09:00 – 15:00
Dinner: 15:00 – 22:00
The majority of shifts will be dinner, with some lunch (usually weekends) and the occasional breakfast cover.

The schedule will be provided one week in advance.

Job duties
Responsibilities of the Freelance Private Chef in Marylebone, London, include:

• Prepare high-quality, nutritious meals for a family of three, focussing on British and Mediterranean cuisine
• Use organic, locally sourced ingredients from trusted specialist suppliers (butchers, fishmongers, cheesemongers, etc.)
• Cater for specific dietary needs, including gluten-free meals and severe nut allergies
• Ensure meals are appropriately timed for the child (e.g., dinner ready by ~5pm), liaising with the Nanny and Housekeeper
• Occasionally assist with kitchen organisation, deep cleaning, and meal prep
• Potential to travel within the UK to the family’s countryside home during school holidays (no international travel required)
• Cater for occasional small-scale entertaining
• Collaborate with other household staff for smooth daily operation
• Daily dog walking (two small dogs) whilst on shift

Candidates must be/have:

• Proven experience as a Private Chef working in a freelance capacity in a HNW private household
• Passionate about cooking with a strong focus on health, nutrition and seasonality
• Professional appearance with clean chef whites and a respectful, proactive attitude
• Flexible, highly organised, and discreet
• Comfortable working independently or as part of a household team
• Live within 40 minutes of Marylebone
• Must have the right to work in the UK

Accommodation
This is a live-out position, so no accommodation is provided.

Hours / Rota pattern
Schedule: Two weeks on/off. Monday – Sunday.

Commitment: 10 shifts per two week working period.

Flexibility: Some schedule flexibility required within the 10 day commitment, but total payment remains fixed at £2,500 regardless of specific days worked.
