Live-in/out Housekeeper (6-12month progression to House Manager)

Overview

An exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced Housekeeper to join a busy, professional family household in Marbella, Spain. This position is ideally suited to someone looking to take the next step within their private household career, with a clear path toward becoming House Manager within the next 6 – 12 months.

The family – two adults and two young children – are seeking a discreet, emotionally intelligent, and highly organised individual to oversee the housekeeping of their primary residence in Marbella, while also gradually taking on broader responsibilities across their additional properties, including rental homes in Marbella and Ibiza.

This is a long-term, full-time position that offers progression and responsibility for someone who understands and thrives within high-standard, private households. Candidates must have strong local knowledge of Marbella and Ibiza, speak fluent Spanish, and have excellent spoken English.

Job duties
Responsibilities of the Live-in or Live-out Housekeeper in Marbella:

Housekeeping & Household Support:

• Maintain the home to a consistent 5-star standard, including deep cleaning and daily upkeep
• Laundry care, including ironing, delicates, and wardrobe management
• Bed making and linen changes
• Monitor and restock household supplies
• Light errands (e.g., dry cleaning, groceries)
• Occasional family-style cooking
• Oversee seasonal organisation and occasional hosting duties
• Proactively identify maintenance issues and liaise with local suppliers when required
• Maintain a composed, polished presence in the home

Childcare (Occasional):

• Support with school pick-up and light babysitting for the family’s 6-year-old
• Warm, positive engagement with the child through reading, games, and play
• No responsibilities for the youngest child (1 year), who has a full-time nanny

Progression into House Management:

• Within the next 6–12 months, the Housekeeper will gradually take on more managerial responsibilities, including:
• Coordination and oversight of the family’s Marbella and Ibiza properties (including holiday rentals)
• Scheduling and managing contractors or tradespeople
• Liaising with suppliers, managing inventory and budgets
• Acting as a primary point of contact during the family’s absence
• Assisting with travel arrangements and household logistics

Candidates must be / have:

• Proven experience as a housekeeper in high-end private households
• EU Passport/Right to work in Spain
• Fluent in Spanish with excellent English communication skills
• Strong familiarity with Marbella and Ibiza – ideally with existing local networks
• Confident, trustworthy, and emotionally intelligent
• Proactive with a can-do attitude and a desire to grow into a House Management role
• Comfortable with occasional travel and overnight stays when needed
• Non-smoker
