Houseman/Groundsman | Private Estate | Surrey

Overview

Our client is looking for a Houseman/Groundsman to manage the general maintenance of their private household near Virginia Water, Surrey.

The Houseman will report directly to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for the daily, weekly, monthly and annual checks of the property.

Job duties

Responsibilities of the Houseman in Virginia Water, Surrey, include:

• Heating and boiler checks and maintenance, including ground source and/or air source heat pump, thermostats and underfloor heating
• Responsible for painting and decorating as and when required
• Roof and gutter maintenance – removing leaves, clearing the roofs of debris and cutting back climbers to ensure no blockages
• Checking drains and septic tanks and arranging external contractors to deal with these systems
• Checking the function of the electric gates and troubleshooting when necessary
• Checking the function of electrical items through the property, to include; lights, Wi-Fi, tv’s, Sonos, air conditioning units, kitchen appliances, etc.
• Regular testing of fire and security systems i.e. testing the alarms, checking CCTV system, etc.
• Errand running for the family
• Leaf blowing of the driveways as and when required
• Assisting the household team with heavy lifting items such as furniture, boxes, artwork, etc. Assisting with setting up events, cleaning hard to reach areas and removing rubbish from the property
• Chopping wood and filling up firewood baskets in the residence
• Clean and service the bikes
• Check and maintain the family boat
• Maintain gutters and clean windows and skylights
• Arrange for external contractors to be onsite as and when required
• Keep garden irrigation in working order
• May be required to attend a security call out
• Some additional garden duties such as watering, weeding, lawn mowing etc. may be required

Candidates must be/have:

• UK Passport or right to work in UK
• A valid driving licence
• Previous experience in a similar role for a HNW/UHNW private household
• Highly skilled with a flexible mindset, and be a team player

Hours
08:00 – 17:30, Monday to Friday.

Location
Virginia Water, Berkshire.

Salary
£40,000.
