Silver Swan is currently seeking an exceptional Family/Personal Assistant to cater to the needs of a distinguished UHNW client in the heart of Manhattan, New York. This live-out role is based at our client’s beautiful multi-level penthouse on the Upper West Side, with some travel to their second property in Westchester, offering a dynamic work environment within a lovely team of household professionals. The successful Family/Personal Assistant will collaborate closely with one other Family/Personal Assistant, working in rotation to ensure seamless support. We are looking for an individual with exceptional organizational skills, a compassionate nature, and intuitive insight. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter, capable of hitting the ground running. High levels of flexibility are required, along with the ability to work harmoniously with team members and provide top-tier support across all facets of the role. The Family/Personal Assistant should embody a robust, professional work ethic and have relevant experience assisting high profile clients in private homes. This position offers an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys the challenge of instilling structure within a household, and who aspires for future professional growth. This Family/Personal Assistant role will require a commitment of approximately 36 hours per week. Please note hours are primarily to cover evening and weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the household
  • Support the Principal and family, coordinating complex family schedules
  • Reorganise, create, and maintain an efficient, productive household and working environment. Work in conjunction with other staff as a productive team
  • Occasional housekeeping duties to assist the Housekeeping team in between shifts
  • Various other household duties including some light cleaning and meal prep (the family has a housekeeper and chef that handle the bulk of these responsibilities). 
  • General administrative support, assisting in streamlining the runnings of the household
  • Conduct research projects for the household, make informed recommendations on a diverse array of topics, (e.g. new furniture, best restaurants)
  • An array of other related tasks, duties, and work assignments as directed by the Principal

Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong command of the English language, excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Previous experience as a Family/Personal Assistant for a high-profile individual
  • Ability to work independently and in cohesion with the Principal and other staff
  • Fast learner with exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
  • A Bachelor’s degree is highly desirable
  • Exceptional administrative skills with a keen aptitude for technology.
  • Enthusiasm, dedication to responsibilities and a positive “can-do” attitude
  • Professional, trustworthy, and well presented
  • Must be eligible to work in the US
  • Excellent references required from previous employers

Package:

  • $55 – $70 per hour DOE
  • Four weeks paid vacation + full benefits including healthcare and a retirement plan.
  • Hours: Evenings and weekends, working in rotation with the second Family/Personal Assistant to cover 4pm – 12pm Monday to Friday, as well as weekend hours.
  • This position is overtime eligible based on a 40-hour work week.
  • Permanent, full-time position.
  • This a live-out position.

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Yacht.

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications:

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.
