Governess

Silver Swan is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Governess to provide exceptional care, education, and guidance to our client’s 18-month-old twin boys in Abu Dhabi. You will work closely with their Nanny to ensure the children are happy, healthy and well looked after. Your role is essential in shaping their education and etiquette, and we are looking for a nurturing, highly organised, and knowledgeable individual to join our client’s formal household. As a Governess, your primary responsibility is to focus on the educational and social development of the children, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment that allows for healthy growth and development. Responsibilities: 

• Develop a structured routine for the children that balances play, learning, and rest 

• Make age-appropriate book recommendations to foster a love for reading 

• Teach manners and social etiquette, appropriate for their age

• Meal preparation 

• Coordinate and oversee the work of the Nannies to maintain a unified approach to childcare 

• Organise safe and fun activities and educational outings, such as visits to museums, art galleries, the theatre, and sporting events 

• Work closely with parents and the family Nanny to meet educational objectives, track progress, and support development 

• Accompany children on family holidays or travel alone with them to other homes as required 

• Keep the parents informed about the children's progress and developmental milestones. 

• Suggest age-appropriate educational toys and games to enhance learning 

• Maintain the family's privacy by refraining from posting any information or images of the children online 

Ideal Candidate: 

• Proven experience as a private Governess within the Middle East

• Strong commitment to children's education and development 

• Excellent organisational and communication skills 

• Discreet, trustworthy, and respectful of privacy 

• Understanding of cultural norms in Abu-Dhabi

• Flexibility to work 6 days a week for 12 hours a day 

• Willingness to travel with the family 

• Adherence to online privacy guidelines. 

Package: 

• Monthly salary: 20,000 – 23,000 AED, based on experience 
  (this is inclusive of accommodation allowance)

• Medical insurance provided 

• Visa provided 

• Annual return flights to the candidate's home country 

• 30 days of paid vacation annually
