Head Housekeeper, London (Live in or Live out)

Silver Swan are working on a wonderful opportunity for an experienced full-time Senior Housekeeper to join a prominent UHNW family in Central London. The successful Senior Housekeeper will be joining a fully staffed home as part of a well-established team of four, reporting to the Property Manager, and working with the Deputy Housekeeper and three junior Housekeepers. This role will consist of day-to-day cleaning, laundry and caring for fine garments, assisting with vendors, liaising with guests, and overall ensuring that the property runs smoothly and to the highest of standards. The family lives in the property on a part-time basis, so it’s essential that the successful Senior Housekeeper is flexible with their working hours, particularly when the family is visiting. When the family is in residence, the house runs with morning and evening shifts shared between the Housekeeping team. Responsibilities:

• All aspects of general housekeeping and deep cleaning of residences, ensuring the home is kept clean, safe and secure at all times.
• Overseeing the current housekeeping team to keep the property running smoothly.
• Assisting the family with travel arrangements, running errands, and organising and dry cleaning.
• Caring for antiques and fine china.
• Maintenance of tidiness throughout all areas of the household.
• Laundry, including caring for fine garments.
• Liaising with the property manager, reporting any maintenance issues, and overseeing contractors/vendors.
• Overseeing household inventory, including managing expenses for cleaning supplies.
• Additional duties as requested.

 
Ideal Candidate:

• Strong command of the English language and excellent communication skills.
• Professional, polished and well-presented.
• Excellent time-management and organisational skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Must be able to work well as part of a team, listen well and adapt, whilst also having the motivation to take on tasks as an individual.
• A preference for 3+ years working for HNW clients, with proven longevity as a full-time Senior Housekeeper.
• Flexibility to work longer hours when required.
• Excellent references from previous employers.

 
Package:

• Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 per annum
• Hours: Monday – Friday, 9-5 when the family is absent. Flexibility is required when the family is visiting.
• Start date: ASAP
• Live-out/Live-in position, can offer self-contained accommodation at the property if needed.
