Position Snapshot

- $110,000-$125,000 AUD / Year + Super+ Bonus DOE

A unique opportunity has become available for an experienced superyacht professional looking to progress their career in Australia.
Joining a fulltime crew of 7 the 1st Officer/ relief captain must be ready to lead on deck by example while also acting as a backup to the captain onboard.
The vessel will be in AMSA survey (DCV) by the middle of the year and therefore the 1st Officer / relief captain must have a minimum of a master 5 by this time, to meet the manning requirements.

Master 5 in hand, moving towards master 4 would be preferential

The yacht is only one vessel within a larger fleet, with plenty of opportunity to progress for the right candidate.
The yacht will use Sydney as its base, with trips away to Gold Coast, Whitsundays & as far as Fiji in the winters.
The 1st Officer / Relief Captain will manage an experienced deckhand and other crew, must be comfortable behind the wheel of various chase tenders and be willing to step-up in the captain’s absence to handle boat business / maneuvering.

Captain will mentor the right 1st Officer into the relief captain duties

The Ideal Candidate
- Superyacht experience essential
- Master 5 / Yachtmaster, on path to master 4 or in possession
- Excellent leadership skills
- Can drive large tenders comfortably
- Looking to progress larger yacht captain experience
- Bridge time/ Bridge operation experience
- Positive / Fun attitude / excellent communication style
- High level of professionalism
- Looking for career progression.
- Work rights for Australia/NZ
