Silver Swan is currently working on a unique opportunity for an experienced House Manager to operate a private residence on a part-time basis in the centre of Tokyo. The property is owned by an American Principal who uses is a few times throughout the year and he has friends and family who use it on an ad-hoc basis also, so the House Manager will be expected to be present during these times. The Principal also expects guests 1-2 times a month, so the successful House Manager will be responsible for coordinating visits as a part of the role. This role would suit someone who has other properties they look after as it requires 5-10 hours a week, depending on occupancy. Alternatively, a property management company could also be a good option.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing day to day running of the home, ensuring the property is secure when not being used and is open, clean and stocked when visitors are expected
  • Organise housekeeping when guests are in residence
  • Manage minor projects
  • Ensure preventative maintenance measures are being taken
  • Liaise with external service providers and contractors to ensure smooth functioning of household systems
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the principals, addressing their needs and preferences in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain open communication channels with the principals to ensure their satisfaction with household operations

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-end residential setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of service excellence
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and schedules
  • Based in Tokyo with good vendor contacts

Package:

  • 5-10 hrs per week
  • $5,000 per month
