An epic opportunity has become available for an experienced Lead Deckhand/ Relief Bosun with mad water skills to join a state of the art 80m+ private yacht as it pinballs its way around the globe.
The yacht is heavy on water sports and when the crew are not on the clock they are out diving, fishing kiting, surfing whenever they can.
An active deckhand who can fit this crew mould will be highly regarded.
Each crew member generally has an extra specialty and any deckhands with strong fishing skills for this role will also be smiled upon , however open to other skills
Lots of time behind the wheel on tenders & other water toys, and officers are keen to help someone progress to their OOW, happy to sign of tasks ect.

Plus the yacht intends to cover some serious sea miles which acts as a fast track to time needed

The lead deckhand will join in NZ for a guest trip, then after a brief yard time the vessel will cross to Fiji.
The yacht will then cross the Pacific and through Panama Canal towards the Caribbean
Intention for 5 year survey / yard time in Barcelona in January 2025
The Lead Deckhand will occasionally act up as relief Bosun to cover off rotations
The Ideal Candidate
• Time as lead on superyachts 60m+
• All-round water skills
• Fishing skills a big bonus
• Yachtmaster with some modules
• Working towards their OOW.
• Can captain a 12m tender
• Can act up as relief Bosun
• STCW, ENG 1
• Candidates in the NZ/OZ region highly considered

Start: 4th March or 11th April

Salary: Discussed on application, $US dollars

Rotation: 4:2 (with 1-month additional probation)
