Overview

Nestled outside a small village in the quiet and rolling South Surrey hills, this private estate is owned by a London based international family primarily as a much-loved weekend home, although one family member is currently in residence during the week.

They are looking for a professional, discreet, and mature Housekeeper to oversee all aspects of maintaining a stunning home, welcoming their guests, and making their stay there as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Candidates will have a real sense of pride in creating a beautiful space, be family friendly and have a love of animals.

Light cooking will be required but there is a chef for formal dinner parties.

This is a live-in or live-out role. For those wanting a live-in set up, accommodation is a self-contained, one bedroomed cottage in the grounds (unfortunately no pets or dependents).

Please note, a candidate must hold a clean, valid UK driving licence, as the property is in a rural location.

Job duties:

Responsibilities of the Housekeeper near Cranleigh include:

Overall upkeep and presentation of a much-loved family home
Errand running
Weekly shop
General housekeeping – to a very high standard
Flower arranging
Occasional childminding of a mid-teen
Walking their two dogs
Garden and grounds maintenance including caring for plants and repairs (e.g., gutter maintenance, fencing, watering, flower beds, pruning, etc.)
Keeping the outside of the residence clean
Garden furniture maintenance
Driving and assistance caring for the cars
Household maintenance and DIY (e.g. light bulb replacement in chandelier, loose tap fixing, paint touch up etc.)

Candidate must be / have:

Acute attention to detail
Real pride in their work
Pre-existing experience in formal or larger household
Fluent English speaker
Experienced in ironing
Happy to muck in with busy family
Able to babysit on occasion
Able to drive (a car is on site for use)

Accommodation

This is either a live-in or live-out role.

Live-in option: A rent-free one bedroomed accommodation on site.
