About the Villa

A jewel of the prestigious neighbourhood of Cannes, the property is an ultra-luxury, modern villa spread over a vast area, facing the sea from atop the hills. With contemporary interiors and exteriors, this villa is a rare example of what modern luxury on the Cote D’Azur looks like. 

With majestic gardens dominating the landscape of the property, there are several leisure areas in the premises along with a dedicated path for taking a relaxing nature walk or a run. The primary villa/Master Guest Villa consists of 7 bedrooms and the secondary unit has 2 bedrooms. The pièce de résistance is the magnificent swimming pool that overlooks the Bay of Cannes with sun-beds to enjoy the South of France weather. In terms of wellness and entertainment, there is a private screening room, a state-of-the-art spa and a fully equipped fitness centre.

The Villa operates at an exceptionally high standard, owing to the VIP guests that rent the villa. The guests usually accommodate the villa from March up until October, during the summer season. Guests can stay for 2 weeks up to 1 month, which means there is no room for error for the staff. The Guests expect impeccable service, which the Villa Manager ensures. You will be joining the team of 2 Housekeepers, 1 Chef, 1 Gardener-Handyman that work closely together all year round to deliver the best service and experience to the VIP guests.

The staff have a dedicated space to have their meals, get rest and freshen up when required. The team also welcomes newer members during the high season. When you join the team, you need to ensure that you are representing the villa and its name through your service, a factor that is crucial for your success.

The project

We are looking for 1 Sous Chef ready to start working as of Beginning March until the mid of  September 2023 : October 2023.

You will be in a supporting/assisting role to the resident Head Chef in the Villa, which means you would have intensive hands-on duties. You would be reporting to the Head Chef and to the Villa Manager as needed.

You would be in charge of:

• Gathering and accurately measuring all meal ingredients 
• Washing & peeling/chopping/dicing vegetables & other items
• Cutting and seasoning different meats
• Preparing basic dishes such as salads and sauces 
• Assisting in keeping track of cooking times, temperatures, etc
• Setting up the kitchen station for the Head Chef, etc. 
• Sourcing the ingredients, checking inventory in the pantry, etc.
• Maintaining proper hygiene standards and ensuring that the workstation remains clean at all times 
• Plating various meal items - pastries, tea-trays, appetizers, mains, desserts, etc.
• Disposing spoiled food items and expired products 
• Accepting deliveries of food items and maintaining a stock record of the same

Desired profile 

• You must be very autonomous and able to report and respect your hierarchy in the same time. 
• We are looking for someone who is passionate about service and likes to work in private villas. Previous experience as a Chef, Sous Chef, Kitchen Help is required. 
• You have a High School Diploma or a Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts 
• You have good knowledge of food hygiene practices & cooking temperatures/timings. 
• You are flexible and capable to multi-task, able to follow the processes that are already implemented and able to be reactive in difficult situations. If someone in the team needs help, you need to be hands on. The team is very close, and everybody, even the Villa Manager work hand-in-hand. 
• You are a smiling person, you like to work in a team and you are discrete. You have a positive attitude. 
• You are always on time and present well, you have a real sense of human relations and communication comes with an ease to you. 
• You MUST speak french and have at least a good level in english. 
• You MUST have a car and a driving licence as THERE ARE NO PUBLIC TRANSPORTS DESERVING THE VILLA. The Villa is on top of a hill and it would take too long to access it from the city center of Vallauris nor Cannes. 

Salary : 2300 euros net/ month. 

French contract. Seasonal Contract CDD.
