Replacing the outgoing Mate/Relief Captain of 8 years the owner & captain have a fabulous track record of crew retention and taking care of staff
The Mate/RC will largely work autonomously and will have great flexibility to structure work hours during the week
The captain has been with the owner for the majority of his career and takes pride in creating an exceptional service experience for the owner and guests
Plenty of wheel time and mentoring into a relief captain position , amazing opportunity to bridge the gap from 1st mate into captain.
The owner uses the yacht predominantly for day trips (overnight trips are rare) and guest trips are known well in advance with fixed dates, giving crew plenty of opportunity to plan their life ashore
The owner has a very healthy budget owning yachts 70m + internationally
The vessel maintains a permanent base in Sydney harbour and crew are required to live off the yacht

The Ideal Candidate

• Master 5 or 200gt
• On cusp of becoming a captain
• Superyacht experience
• Recognises the value of a good owner
• Looking to upskill
• Reliable & trustworthy
• High level of professionalism
• Can work well autonomously
• Can act as captains’ right hand
• Work rights for Australia
• Own accommodation in Sydney

Start: Flexible, December / January

Salary: $90,000-$100,000 AUD / year DOE
