Bosun- 60m- Scientific Research/ Expedition Style MY – Western Australia, PNG, Indo, Antarctica

Position Snapshot

• Private & Scientific research focus
• Heavy Diving focus (Diving Experience is Optional)
• Yachtmaster or Master 5

A very high profile 60m Expedition superyacht is on the search for a Bosun to join their unique program & team
The vessel is used for a mixture of private owner trips and scientific research expeditions
Past science trips include deep trench dives in the Indian Ocean & Ocean bed discovery missions in PNG
As there is a dive focus on the yacht the Bosun will have the option of taking an active role in their ‘private’ Dive Program if holding Instructor COC or similar (but not essential if no dive experience)
The Bosun must be confident running a small deck team, driving tenders and launching craft
Previous Superyacht experience is necessary but time in other ‘hands on’ expedition style programs will be looked on favourably
Lots of action in his role for the right candidate and not your usual push the chamois yacht
Program will include: Perth (base) , Exmouth, Montebello, Rowley Shores, Kimberley, PNG, Indo with prospects for an Antarctic expedition 2023/24 with lots of down time in Perth in between

The Ideal Candidate

• Yachtmaster or similar
• Time on Superyachts
• Experience in a lead deck role
• Looking for off the beaten track exploration
• Can lead a strong deck team
• Can work within an ISM framework
• Hands on, Tender driving, cranes ECT
• Work rights for Australia

Salary: Depending on experience

Start: Flexible

Leave: 6 weeks / year + days in Lieu accrued for any weekends work
