Captain - Private Yacht - Permanent - Florida

We are recruiting an experienced captain for a private 90ft motor yacht based mainly from Florida with regular trips to the Hamptons and the Bahamas. In addition to being responsible for the boat you are also responsible for preparing the house ready for the family’s arrival also. Therefore, flexibility is key and working well as a small team to ensure the Principal is well looked after from the minute the family arrives to when they leave is essential. The successful candidate will be eligible to work in the US and will already be based around the Miami/FL area available to interview immediately. This is a live out position. You will be part of a 2-man team working alongside a stewardess.

Responsibilities

• Full management of the yacht and its navigation for all trips as required
• Ad hoc engineering work when needed or organising an engineer accordingly
• Alongside the stew, prepare the client’s home prior to his family’s arrival
• Organise all food shopping before and during the trip
• Driving duties for the family and guests during their visits
• Work closely with the stew to ensure service is 5* at all times

Ideal Candidate

• Experience in yacht size equivalent or bigger
• Happy to work off the boat in the home as required
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Safe and competent navigational and ship handling skills
• Extensive experience in the area (Fort Lauderdale and the East Coast)
• US passport or B1/B2 visa
• MCA Master 3000 certification
• Engineering experience is desirable
• STCW fully updated
• PDSD Seafarer’s Medical Certificate
• Discretion & flexibility is paramount

Package Salary: $120,000
