Family Description and Location

A European family who lives between the UK and Europe are looking for an indoor couple to come and join their team. The family have two teenage children at boarding school and other family members who visit frequently. They live on a large shooting estate in a village 5 miles from Basingstoke in Hamsphire which is a country in the British Countryside. The house is 25,000 sq ft and is under complete renovation and near completion at which point it will be the main residence for the family for the shooting season between September and February. The family travel extensively and the property is run by a management couple who you would report to alongside a friendly and informal team that consists of gardeners, a chef and security.

Job Description

The role would be mainly indoors to over see the upkeep and presentation of the house to a high standard.

• Housekeeping
• Laundry & ironing
• Service of food and drink
• Setting of tables
• Serving at table (not silver service)
• Meeting and greeting guests
• Knowledge of fine fabrics of special surfaces.
• Assisting with luggage
• Family style cooking (there is a chef for main events)
• Driving of the principles to and from the airport
• Errands and replenishing of stock
• School runs

Candidate Requirements

It is essential that you have worked in a team environment before and one of you has to be a driver. Would suit someone who has a chalet/villa host, yacht or hotel background. You will  both need to have settled status or a British Passport to apply for this role.

Days of Work, Accommodation and Salary

There is a one-bedroom terraced cottage available ensuite bedroom and bathroom and kitchen diner with a separate lounge finished to a high standard. The cottage is a long way from the main house. The house is unsuitable for pets and young dependents.

This is a 5 day per week role and you will work a 40 hour week but This is a shooting estate so from September to January you may have to work up to a 50 hour week and take time off in Lieu from February to -August.
