2nd Officer- 180’ Expedition / Scientific Research MY – Western Australia, PNG, Indo

Position Snapshot

• Private & Scientific research focus

• OOW or Master 4

A very high profile 180’ Expedition superyacht is on the search for a 2nd officer to join their unique program & team

The vessel is used for a mixture of private owner trips and scientific research.

Past science trips include: deep trench dives in the Indian Ocean & Ocean bed discovery missions in PNG

As there is a dive focus on the yacht the 2nd officer will have the option of heading up their ‘private’ Dive Program if holding Instructor COC or similar

The 2nd Officer must also be competent on the bridge and leading a large deck team

Previous Superyacht experience is necessary but time in other ‘hands on’ expedition style programs will be looked on favourably

Lots of action in his role for the right candidate and not your usual push the chamois yacht

Program will include: Perth (base) , Exmouth, Montebello, Rowley Shores, Kimberley, PNG, Indo , Beyond?

The Ideal Candidate
• OOW or Master 4 (May consider Yachtmaster + OOW modules)
• Time on Superyachts
• (optional)- Dive Instructor or Divemaster
• Looking for off the beaten track exploration
• Can lead a strong deck team
• Can work within an ISM framework
• Hands on, Tender driving, cranes ECT
• Work rights for Australia

Salary: Excellent Package

Leave: 6 weeks + days in Lieu accrued for weekends

Start: Between now & mid-July
