POSITION SUMMARY

The Activities and Aquatics Manager supports and executes the delivery of high quality, individualized and technically excellent products and services onboard the yacht. With an emphasis on well-being and education, this role oversees and ensures the highest levels of safety and engagement for all participating guests (and young guests) by managing programming and services for Ritz Kids, The Marina and The Onboard Aquatics Program. This leader is both responsible for delivering and improving all Ritz Kids activities to maximize young guest engagement while also enlivening The Marina guest experience by demonstrating and maintaining the safe operation of all water sports equipment with a focus on personalized instruction. This role will support additional onboard activities onboard and will co-ordinate with the Entertainment and Enrichment Ambassador to ensure a meaningful and balanced guest activities program overall for every sailing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1.Supporting the Entertainment & Enrichment Ambassador with the efficient execution of the Entertainment & Enrichment programming and leading Ladies and Gentlemen, with an emphasis on Ritz Kids and The Marina experience

2.Prepares, organizes and schedules all Ritz Kids programming, daytime activities, evening entertainment, social events, and all speaking engagements. Builds the approach with the Ritz Carlton Yacht Collection Programming and Activities philosophy in mind

3.Assists in delivery of Ritz Kids programming when required and stays close to changing needs based on guest demographics unique to each sailing

4.Visits and walks all areas of the yacht to proactively engage with guests in order to identify their expectations and needs fulfilling them promptly. Verifies the smooth running of entertainment activities, acting on and following up on any issues found to ensure standards are not affected and always remain on brand

5.Supports with arrival and departure duties in cooperation with the Guest Services Manager and Shore Collection Manager

6.Liaise with the Corporate Hotel Operations team in developing The Marina program and aquatics activities. Delivers one on one guest programming as appropriate within the aquatics experience.

7.Implements, monitors, evaluates, and manages the operations of The Marina program and area in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures and regulations. Works closely with the Marine Team regarding scheduling, safe operation and maintenance of The Marina.

8.Has extensive knowledge and ability to demonstrate the use of all water sports equipment. This includes Hobie Cats, paddle boards, kayaks, windsurfer and snorkeling equipment.

9.Maintains the safety of guests and employees at all times with the ability to anticipate the changing environment

10.Responsible to manage the guest check-in / check-out in the Property Management mobile gangway system and ensures that guests and employees utilizing The Marina are properly recorded and accounted for at all times

11.Manages the Marina Retail operation for all goods and services sold at The Marina and in connection with Aquatics and Ritz Kids

12.Assists the Wellness Coach in executing the onboard Wellness program and activities

13.Monitors and evaluates guests’ comments and creates plans for improvements.

14.Proactively responds to issues or potential problems quickly and efficiently involving the relevant stakeholders as required. Communicates any challenges, complaints or service difficulties to immediate supervisor keeping the Entertainment & Enrichment Ambassador promptly and fully informed of all problems and matters of significance.

15.Supports the onboard Hotel Operations team by assisting where needed and as business dictates.

16.Displays a thorough knowledge of the yacht’s daily activities to be able to advise and promote to guests in line with brand and programming pillars. Aware of internal Scenography program and drives compliance across areas of responsibility.

17.Prepares voyage reports on an itinerary-by-itinerary basis to be sent to the corporate office.

6.Manages the duties, responsibilities and work schedule of Department’s Ladies & Gentlemen

7.Guides and trains new Ladies and Gentlemen in the department

QUALIFICATIONS

1.Valid Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) and flag certification for the duration of the contract and appropriate to position.
2.Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Education, Recreation or related field.
3.Valid Lifeguard certification.
4.Valid Coxswain power boat license.
5.Valid CPR and First Aid Certification.
6.Preferred experience working with children and running activities and programs.
7.Preferred Instructor qualification for sailboats and windsurfers.
8.Preferred fitness instructor certification to allow the successful Lady or Gentleman to support the onboard fitness program.
9.Preferred experience working with travel destination experiences. Arts and entertainment background considered an asset.
10.Capable of operating inventory systems in the capacity of a regular user.
11.Strong communication, customer service, organization and multi-tasking skills. Comfortable with public speaking.
12.Good knowledge and experience in Public Health rules and regulations related to USPH and HACCP.
13.Multilingual considered an asset

PHYSICAL & LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
•While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The Lady or Gentleman must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
•All Yacht Ladies and Gentlemen must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
•All Yacht Ladies and Gentlemen must be able to communicate in the English language in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers.
