Private Yacht First Officer - Permanent - Dubai

We are recruiting for an experienced Yacht First Officer to join a large vessel in Dubai. The right candidate is required to have in depth knowledge of all bridge, navigation and deck procedures as well as in depth skills of repair and maintenance. Must have a thorough understanding of safety procedures as well as managerial skills and strong leadership. The first officer has to be able to support the captain in every aspect of yacht management. Previous experience in a similar setting is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assisting captain with all administrative and safety duties
• Manage the deck crew and maintaining crew discipline
• Maintenance and deck inventory and deck equipment
• Stowage of yacht for sea
• Navigation
• Arrange regular safety drills
• Setting watch schedules
• Adhering to deck budget

Ideal Candidate

• Able to stand in for captain in his absence
• Ability to delegate, effective communicator, organized, diplomatic and versatile
• Boat handling and navigation skills
• Excellent ISM and ISPS knowledge and practices
• Extensive maintenance knowledge like, cleaning, rust/corrosion, painting, varnishing, rope splicing, fiberglass, carpentry
• Outboard motors and maintenance product knowledge
• Basic engineering knowledge
• Advanced knowledge of all water sports
• Computer skills

Package Salary: 15000 AED per month - tax free
