Officer- OOW -64m Expedition/Scientific Research MY – Australia, Tahiti, Mexico, Beyond

A high-profile expedition / scientific research charter yacht is on the search for a OOW to join their active program
The yacht is used both for private & charter but will also undertake a variety of scientific research missions in the various off the beaten track locations it cruises
As the yacht is currently docked in the South Pacific, the yacht is only considering candidates located in Australia or New Zealand at this time
The yacht is equipped with all the usual toys of leisure, + high speed/range tenders and helicopter
The yacht is desiring candidates wanting an active / adventurous lifestyle who are highly competent watermen / women
Must be across ISM and have competent bridge and watchkeeping time

As the yacht will be heading to Tahiti it will be the requirement for all crew to be fully vaccinated (time frame for ETD: 3-4 weeks)

The Ideal Candidate

• OOW COC
• STCW + seafarer medical
• OOW time on superyachts over 500gt
• Competent ISM knowledge
• Good bridge time
• Highly adventurous and strong in the water
• Interested in scientific research and caring for the planet
• Willing to undergo COVID vaccine prior to departure
• Located in either Australia or NZ for joining

Salary: $6000 US / Month DOE, Standard MLC leave (no rotation) + flights, medical insurance
