40m Private/Charter M/Y seeking a professional Bosun to join ASAP in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Requirements:

  • Confident and strong with tender driving as we have a 32ft tender, deck skills such as line handling and mooring operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, professional and mature with a positive outlook.
  • Watersports background a big plus 
  • High level of maintenance skills including painting, varnishing, etc
  • Can work independantly as well as part of the team.
  • Ideally 2+ years experience in a similar role and yachtmaster a big plus!

Job specifics:

Brand new owner who wants to charter, charter, charter. Chief Mate is currently setting up the boat from scratch and needs somebody who is ready to hit the ground running with minimal supervision. Potentially a busy charter season ahead with one short owners trip at the end of June in the Bahamas, with a charter straight afterwards. Will run with Chief Mate, Bosun and Deck/Stew on the exterior.
Looking for somebody ASAP but also willing to wait for the perfect fit!

Valid STCW/10, ENG1 and B1/B2 visa mandatory

Male only due to cabin arrangements (May consider couples as we're also looking for a 2nd Stew but can't promise cabin sharing!)

Must be willing to fly to the US if successful!

Work Experience Requirements:

All applicants must have previous experience in working on yachts matching the following requirements:

  • Yacht sizes:  30-39m, 40-49m, 50-69m or > 70m
  • Yacht types:  motor or classic
  • Yacht uses:   private or charter
  • Experience length:  min 2 years

Language Requirements:

Good knowledge of the English language is required.

Certificates and Qualifications:

All applicants must hold a valid ENG1 certificate to be able to apply for this position.

A valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificate is required from all applicants. Please sign up for an STCW course and obtain the certificate if you don't have it yet.

Visa Requirements:

B1/B2 visa is required for this role. US and Canadian citizens do not require the B1/B2 visa.
