Charter Yacht Captain (+/- 80')

Skippers Job Description

One of Hong Kong’s leading charter companies with a fleet of luxury vessels require skippers for a number of vessels (Sunseeker 74’, NuMarine 78, Princess 85’) both private and charter vessels.
The area of operation is Hong Kong territorial waters
The position is full time.
Salary Dependent on Experience

• Includes overall responsibility for the vessel at sea and in port to ensure the vessel is operated in a safe and seamanship like manner.
• Fully comply to the operation of vessel as laid out in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
• Prepare and complete daily navigation logs and plans.
• Carry out safety briefing for all guests when embarking on the vessel
• Carry out routine maintenance and safety checks as outlined in the Daily, Weekly & monthly check lists
• Undertake regular training & drills to ensure you and the crew are appropriately prepared and familiar with emergency situations
• Act as customer service contact while clients or owners are onboard
• Act as representative of Asiamarine to the highest standard and promote the Brand

The role of skipper is to ensure the safe operation of the vessel.
The vessel is supported by shore team however an excellent understanding of day to day maintenance is a must.
Requires excellent seamanship skills and the ability to inspire and teach deck crew.
The skipper must have a can-do attitude and be prepared to do any job on-board to ensure the vessel runs smoothly and efficiently working as team with the other staff on-board.
The Captain and crew are the face of the company requiring direct client interaction with VIP clientele. As such a high standard of customer service is required.
Professional presentation required at all times and the Captain will be required to communicate politely with clients. Good spoken English is preferable.
Occasional overnight charters will require crew to stay on-board for the duration of charter.
Skipper will be assigned a primary vessel but may be required to work on any of the company’s other vessels as required.
Requires good communication skills across the departments

Experience

Previous experience as a professional Captain required.

Required qualifications

• *Hong Kong Grade 1 Coxswains Licence
• STCW Elementary First Aid
• STCW Personal Survival Techniques
• STCW Fire Prevention & Fighting

*Holders of RYA Yachtmaster may apply but will be required to apply for conversion to HK Grade 1 before taking up post (may take 2-3 months)
